Book Of Love
Book Of Love
One of the first wave electronic groups, Book of Love emerged out of the New York City scene in the mid-80s and was signed by the legendary Seymour Stein to Sire Records. On April 1, 1986, art-students-turned musicians: Susan Ottaviano, Ted Ottaviano, Jade Lee and Lauren Roselli released the bands debut album. Between 1985 and 1993, the band released four studio albums and had a steady string of influential club hits, including the classics "Boy", "I Touch Roses", the ebullient "You Make Me Feel So Good" and "Pretty Boys and Pretty Girls/Tubular Bells" which crossed over on the Billboard Hot 100. The band's music was featured in the classical films: Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Silence of the Lambs and American Psycho.

In 2016, Book of Love marked their 30th Anniversary with the release of
"MMXVI-Book of Love-The 30th Anniversary Collection" available digitally on Rhino Records.

- From DJ Paul V. -
“I started my club DJ career in 1981, and all these bold and fearless LGBTQ artists were essential choices for the dancefloor. Not only were many of them in my age peer-group, I consider them all icons and heroes for choosing to declare their queerness at a time when it was still quite dangerous (and career-killing) to do so. And even if some of them officially came out a bit later in life, I think people forget just how many LGBTQ artists contributed to the soundtrack of all our lives at the time. So this is my chance to really honor those contributions. And seriously: they gave us some of the greatest and most beloved music of the 80’s to begin with, so it’s kind of a no-brainer!

Note that this event is ALL inclusive:
Gay, straight, bi, trans, queer or however you identify yourself — let’s all celebrate and let’s DANCE!"
